“The Temperate House at Kew Gardens is one of my favourite places and when we lived in London I spent many days photographing the extraordinary botanical plants on my old Hassleblad. The scale and graphic qualities of the temperate leaves were inspiring as were some of the names: Bismarkia nobilis was my favourite. The only danger was when they turned the sprinklers on!”
